After Miley embarrasses herself, Trey (Mike) tries to make her feel better by putting a watermelon rind over his head to make
himself look foolish, too.
|
Here Miley tries to decide how to break a commitment to go out with Trey (Mike). Of course, the ever resourceful Lilly comes
through in the clutch with the solution!

Here Trey (Mike) introduces Miley to his rich and snooty parents at dinner. Unfortunately for Trey and Miley, his parents
act up while Miley tries to fit in...
|
Trey's parents get carried away with themselves as an angry and embarrassed Trey and a surprised Miley struggle to make it
through dinner.

As Miley tries to explain where she comes from, Trey's parents press her for more details. Though sharing a funny moment,
Trey resents his parents for grilling Miley.
|
Irritated with his parents for embarrassing his date, Trey comes to Miley's defense. Tired of his parents scaring away every
girl he meets, Trey has had enough this time.

After dinner, it's time to meet Miley's family. Of course, her dad, Robby, and brother, Jackson, try to help Miley impress
her new boyfriend's parents!
|
The ruse is in full swing as Miley, Robby, and Jackson put on quite a show. But do Trey's parents buy all the tomfoolery?
Even Trey appears to be puzzled.

Jackson adds his personal touch to the proceedings. Despite the efforts of Miley's dad and brother, Trey's parents continue
to get more and more suspicious.

Trey's parents, convinced Miley is a gold digger trying to get at the family fortune, get up in a huff to leave... but Trey
stands up for his girl and tells off his parents!

Impressed Trey told off his parents in defense of his daughter, Robby invites Trey to sit down to some ribs. With some friendly
advice from Jackson, Trey digs in.
|
After well-received (and well deserved) applause from the studio audience, some fans grab a few snapshots of the cast for
the episode. Stay tuned!

As the crew sets up, Mike gets ready to hit the water in a '70s era swimsuit he had to wear for the scene.
|
Here Mike takes instructions from director Lynn D'Angona (in straw hat) as he shivers in the cold water and early morning
air.

Roll sound and... action! Heart-throb Randy (Mike) climbs out of the pool in front of the admiring Jenny (actress Sara
Swain) and Dru (actress Laura Howard).
|
Bringing up the rear! This is the same moment in the scene (during one of the seemingly endless takes) taken from another
angle across the pool.

Between takes, Mike stands off to the side of the camera and goes over his lines. The pretty young woman in black behind
Mike was his makeup artist.

Filming resumes in the afternoon. Each scene must be shot several times to get all the camera angles. This view of the scene

This time, the camera is on Mike. With each new camera angle setup, they must keep track of where all the props are in order
to keep scene continuity.
|
After a long, hot day in the sun, director Lynn D'Angona poses with her tired leading man. I have never seen anyone get in
and out of a pool so many times in one day!

Here the crew sets up for another shot of Mike, this time entering the school with the mirror he pushes throughout the entire
PSA. The mirror can be seen to the left. Mike is not yet in the scene.
|
After wardrobe and makeup are finished with Mike, he is escorted onto the set for another scene. Though each camera angle
may last only a few seconds on screen, each takes considerable time to set up.

And... action! After Mike received some direction, cameras rolled as he pushed his mirror into the school in his quest
to find his "troubled" friend. The resulting PSA was smart and very direct in its simplicity.
|
All eyes, at least those of the kids working as extras, are on Mike as he awaits another take. There were a lot of kids cast
for this PSA as it was staged at a local school in the Long Beach area.

|
Here Mike jokes around with one of his acting friends between scenes of the PSA. During a long and weary day of shooting
and production, the cast and crew relish what few breaks they are allowed.
|
Meeting new friends is one of the benefits of acting. Since Mike does not go to public school, most of his friends end up
being other actors. Here, the two share some music together in between scenes.
